I think its complete bullshit that its illegal for civilians (such as myself) can't carry concealed weapons (like telescoping batons, brass knuckles, etc) and cops can. Cops aren't always around to protect you. In a rough neighborhood its hard to protect one's self with only one's bare hands. An telescoping baton would give one the upper hand when one is attacked by a criminal. Also, if I was a women, I'd rather get charged for carrying a concealed weapon than getting raped!

If you're not a minor, the law provides for this in about 1/2 of the states.

1. When confronted by a thief who has a gun, throw your hands up high and wait until he goes away. Hope he doesn't pull the trigger and kill you or your family.
2. Sit and wait for the police to show up. Tell the robber that he's a "bad boy... and to stay where he is..." and hope the police make it there within a couple hours.
3. During a home invasion, just give them whatever they want and let them rape your daughter while you're on the phone with 911 waiting for someone to respond. Remember, if you scratch the home invading rapist he can sue you and your family - tying you up in litigation for years regardless of his crimes.
4. A gun is scaaaaaaaaaaaaaaary. So we should take them away from ALL citizens so that the thieves, drug cartels, rapists, murders, serial killers, and other screwed individuals have all the ammo and guns they can carry. Doesn't that make perfect sense? I'd like to know that typical people won't have guns so that people who are out to kill me have plenty!
5. Tell people who shouldn't have guns to NEVER carry one. That way, they know... and if they know, they won't get one - right?
6. We should enact NO CITIZEN HAD A GUN LAW, because criminals follow the laws, right? Also, we'll get those nasty guns off the street... or so I think we would...?
I'll be laying here in the dirt, assaulted, murdered next to my family which were killed by a convicted felon who smuggled a gun in from Mexico. So you guys just go ahead and turn in all your guns because... we want America to be safer! I called the police before I was murdered but they aren't here yet.

You also cannot wear body armor. Even simple "defensive" messures are against the law. I am for the people being allowed to be armed. Whether it is a pistol or a batton. I really do not think brass knuckles will help much. Liddy would always carry a sharpened pencil. There are other defensive weapons you can use. Problem in my area is that you get jumped by groups of 4 or more. Kind of difficult to defend against with just your fists.

I think that if gun control is not allowed, people should all be packing heat...lol. I know it sounds silly but as you mentioned, you do not want to be on the victim end just because you were not prepared to defend yourself.
I also want to make a point that one of the reasons we should be allowed to have guns is to protect us from the tyranny of government. BUT..when you want to carry a gun to protect your self from the government, you become a terrorist.
